Friday is Good because Sunday is coming
And by that we can know, and trust, that even dark times in life can be good because … Sunday is coming.
I always find Good Friday and the Saturday a bit pensive and solemn. Even now, 2023(ish) years later … the darkness of knowing Jesus died in such a terrible way, is painful to bear. And I know how it ends … how terrible it must have been all those years ago, when they didn’t know the next chapter, and felt it finished. Yet they went about their sabbath, believing the worst .. the women prepped to go take care of Jesus’s body, with the heaviest of hearts imaginable. They thought it was all finished, and were met with the most beautiful surprise — an Angel — He is risen. Hallelujah! All is not lost!
Have you ever felt lost in the darkness? That everything is finished, there is no hope, no redemption? Maybe you feel that way right now. That there is no end to the darkness in sight. I want you to know, that just as those women were met with a sudden shocking joy — so to can you be. You don’t know when it’s coming, but I can promise it’s on its way. Sunday is coming, a reprieve from the burden or the darkness or the addiction or the temptation or the depression or or or .. whatever it is that stands in your life. God has good plans for you. You can count on them. The Jesus who died for you will not stop fighting for you, He conquered the grave for you and that strength and power is yours, if you just call on Him, in faith.
Sunday is coming. You can count on it.
